Spooky singing and sparkly costumes will be showcased these school holidays, as some of Newcastle’s most talented youth take to the stage.
Performers from Islington’s Hunter Drama were set to present Roald Dahl’s ‘The Witches’ in April last year, but were forced to postpone due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
Twelve months later, the play is looking sharper and more rehearsed than ever.
It is based on the well-known tale of a coven led by a 300-year-old Grand High Witch who detests little children and plans to turn them into mice.
The Witches has a cast of 26 actors, aged 10 to 18 and features siblings Shyla and Layla Schillert as two of the leading ladies.
